Search entries, including a name, telephone number, or address, are sent to the outside provider that operates the result service. Cottage Grove Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search terms on its own servers. A message sent to us contains the information included in that message and is used to respond.

Links lead to county, state, court, library, archive, and sponsored-search services. Their terms and privacy policies govern what is submitted after leaving this site. That includes information entered into a sponsored search form.

Hosting and support providers may process the technical data described above for us. Analytics and advertising services may receive automatic information. We disclose data only when valid legal process requires disclosure or when law otherwise requires it.
Safeguards and Retention
The site uses an encrypted connection, and operational logs are retained only for the purposes stated here. Cottage Grove Residents Directory has no visitor accounts, passwords, or user profiles to store.

This reference is intended for adults and is not designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent information, and we will remove it.
Privacy Choices and Rights
Where applicable, a visitor may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held by this private reference. Minnesota’s Consumer Data Privacy Act took effect July 31, 2025 and informs our data-minimization approach. Government records kept by Minnesota, Washington County, or Cottage Grove are not controlled by us, and requests about those records must go to their custodian.
